Bearded since:  2016
I'm an identity designer. I design handmade logos, packaging, illustrations and stationary. I'm in love with mid 20th century native culture, mostly poetry and music of that time. My hobbies are drawing, writing and gardening.
MEAN BEARD Motto:     One must remember his/her roots ... love it, nurture it, learn from it.
Tell us why you have the MEANest BEARD?
Someone introduced me to the world beard championship at a very early age of 12 or 13 and I fell in love with it. To this day I try to learn from the champions, read about them, even create beard art like them just to enjoy a special art which very few can understand.

I spent the majority of my life working as a bartender, but retired almost two years ago. These days, I spend time working with various organizations working to bring about social changes. In my spare time, I like writing songs with my husband and taking care of our rescue cats.
MEAN BEARD Motto:      There will always be people more fortunate than me and those who are less fortunate. The important thing is to be the best version of me I can be.
Tell us why you have the MEANest BEARD?
As a teenager, I could easily grow facial hair and started experimenting with facial hair. However, when I was in my 20's I was told at my job that "people don't trust men with beards" and it was "requested" that I keep my face shaved. I never did see the research about the distrust of men with beards and so over the course of the next couple of decades, I would occasionally grow my beard out. Guess what? People trust me. And they dig my beard.

I am a corrections Lieutenant at my local county jail. I am a proud husband, father to 3 beautiful girls, and grandfather to a 1 year old little girl. I am currently in school full time working on my bachelor's degree in business administration. In my spare time (of which I don't have much) I do 3d printing and painting of fantasy miniatures.
MEAN BEARD Motto:    I am a firm believer in working hard and being the best person I can be while setting an example for family, friends, and my employees.
Tell us why you have the MEANest BEARD?
I work in a career where few people actually grow their beards, much less grow it to the length of my beard. I take pride in keeping it neat and cared for. Sometimes I change the style slightly but I see my beard as a connection to my roots. Two generations back my family immigrated to Canada from Sweden. The Norse blood still runs strong through my veins. I am proud of my heritage and proud of the bearded man that I am.

First, there was a goatie, because I have a small jaw and I wanted to hide it under a beard. After two years, when it grew up to 25+ cm, I decided to shave it. It was May 2018 when I started again - full beard this time.

Well, when I first started to grow my beard nobody like it. Lot of people called me different names and lot of people asked whether I was involved with the terrorist because that's how it is in India. But now, people know me only because of my beard. My beard has become my ID.
